The KCS.net support lifecycle gives you clear and fixed guidelines on product support – from the launch of the product right to the end of its lifecycle.
New release of Microsoft Dynamics AX
Six months after the official launch of a new AX release by Microsoft, the functions of the KCS.net modules will be enhanced to match it. Following a release change, the previous release will be supported for a further 24 months. The condition to this is that the customer has accepted the previous service packs and patches.
Replacement of KCS.net modules after a new release
Reasons for the disappearance of KCS.net modules:
- functionality will be covered by the new AX standard in the future;
- no or low customer demand for the KCS.net module; or
- no economic basis for a module update/new concept.
The procedures in these cases will be:
- a one-off technical update to the latest version of Dynamics AX will be made;
- a data migration to a new version and/or a local function of Dynamics AX will be conducted;
- billing for software maintenance for the KCS.net modules in question will be stopped;
- after 24 months, module maintenance will stop and the module will be removed from the KCS.net layer; and
- the module will be migrated to the customer’s CUS layer.
